12 Days of Christmas, Day One

For the next 12 days I will be offering specials, discounts, and giveaways on my blog for-

“The Twelve Days of Shaklee Christmas….”  Each day I will highlight a few products and offer some deal to go with the day.   Be on the look out for specials deals,FREE ITEMS, and giveaways!  The deals are good for the entire 12 days, so if you read a post late…the offer will still be good as long as it is before December 12th.

Any money that I make during these 12 Days of Christmas will go towards Samaritans Purse.  Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ.

To tie into Shaklee’s mission, my goal is to help purchase the following: Emergency Relief Supply, Freshwater wells, and Help Stock a Fish pond (near and dear to my hubby’s heart)  ! I know I often take for granted never having to worry about food, water, and medical care, which is sadly not the case for many.   This Holiday season I am constantly reminded of how much I already have.  Although at times I find myself wanting more and my Christmas list growing, I need to bring myself in check and realize its all about Jesus this season and it is way better to give than receive.  Samaritans Purse is an amazing organization and I am passionate about helping out others who are in need of clean water, emergency relief supplies, and fish to feed people.

If you have any last minute Christmas projects, stay healthy this Holiday season, and help support a great ministry to help others in need of water, food, and medical assistance read below.

A few interesting facts about Vitamin D….

A great remedy for SADD- Seasonal Affective Disorder

90% of Americans have inadequate levels of Vitamin D

The flu – In a study published in the Cambridge Journals, it was discovered that vitamin D deficiency predisposes children to respiratory diseases. An intervention study conducted showed that vitamin D reduces the incidence of respiratory infections in children.

AsthmaVitamin D may reduce the severity of asthma attacks. Research conducted in Japan revealed that asthma attacks in school children were significantly lowered in those subjects taking a daily vitamin D supplement of 1200 IU a day.

Cancer – Researchers at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington DC discovered a connection between high vitamin D intake and reduced risk of breast cancer. These findings, presented at the American Association for Cancer Research, revealed that increased doses of the sunshine vitamin were linked to a 75 percent reduction in overall cancer growth and 50 percent reduction in tumor cases among those already having the disease. Of interest was the capacity of vitamin supplementation to help control the development and growth of breast cancer specially estrogen-sensitive breast cancer.
