Cleaning Carpets Naturally

With babies and toddlers always on the ground I wanted a carpet cleaner that is SAFE and doesn’t leave any chemicals on the ground (as well as the strong fumes left behind for many weeks to come).  This will leave your carpets super clean and without any fumes!

I used Basic H (click on links to read more about these), Natures Bright, and liquid laundry….

(NOTE you can definitely do this with just Basic H and Natures Bright) I just added the liquid laundry because we had some super bad stains.  You can also use Basic G to disinfect the carpets (will add this next time)

Here is the recipe- honestly I didn’t measure exactly but it was around this:

Another added bonus is we can wash all of Caleb and Malaynas clothes with ours- all while saving money too because all of their cleaners are really concentrated so you only need a small amount.  Read more about why I love Shaklee cleaners here!

The Basic H and Natures Bright work so well with stains that it even got PEN out of Malayna’s blanket.

Here is “Whats in my hospital bag.” Some things are a little early to pack until its go time, but here is what I have so far:

I know the hospital provides most of what you need baby wise so all I am planning to bring is a coming home outfit, cute blanket for pictures from the lovely Renee, adorable hat, and socks.

Bag for Malayna to spend the night- Including her  “Big Sister” shirt:

After labor recovery help!

Extra calcium is required for baby’s healthy bones – AND little known fact…Mom’s blood level rises 50% during pregnancy. Calcium along with iron is responsible for producing the extra blood that nourishes the fetus. When taken during pregnancy can prevent leg cramps. Also a lot of sleep issues are linked to a calcium and magnesium deficiency (why a glass of warm milk is suggested before bed cavities, and helps calm the baby after birth!
**I had really bad cramps from my uterus contracting when I nursed May- this helps with muscle cramps, mood swings, water retention, and reduces indigestion. Hopefully my cramps wont be so bad with this!  Many of my friends use Osteomatrix and GLA to help with menstrual cramping and NO LONGER GET CRAMPS!! I take 1-2 osteomatrix with each meal to help my heartburn- it works amazing!
Benefits: Relieves PMS, retains normal blood pressure, reduces risk of osteoporosis

Shaklee Physique is a pure, natural, high-octane fuel for rapid muscle recovery, endurance, and strength. Help restore muscle energy. Support muscle repair. Physique contains the right amount of protein and carbohydrates to help you recover faster and optimize muscle rebuilding. No artificial flavors, sweeteners or added preservatives.
Benefits: Speeds recovery time and reduces muscle soreness

Herb Lax (Probiotics also help with regulation)
Alternative to: Stool softeners-

We all know why I will need these :)

Encourages a mild cleansing action to aid the body’s natural processes. Senna leaf has been used traditionally for thousands of years as a natural laxative
Benefits: Improves regularity, relieves constipation, detoxifier, gastrointestinal problems, relieves hemorrhoids, helps headaches (Did you know many headaches are due to constipation?)

Gentle Sleep
Alternative to: Sleep aids

(I am bringing this because I always have trouble sleeping somewhere else especially a hospital)

Benefits: Improves quality of sleep, relaxing effect, reduces anxiety, relieves tension and restlessness

Pain relief

I remember taking a lot of Ibuprofen for a few days after having May and my stomach getting really upset from it. Not to mention all the other side effects it can have on your body.

Maternity Pictures

Last fall and winter when I was so sick I never thought May would come and now its here!  I am so thankful to be at the finish line of my pregnancy and I can not wait to meet sweet baby boy!

Lauren took these pictures on Easter….

IMG_5294 IMG_5296 IMG_5297 IMG_5304 IMG_5308 IMG_5311 IMG_5322 IMG_5324 IMG_5325 IMG_5328 IMG_5330 IMG_5331 IMG_5334 IMG_5341We love you baby Boy and can’t wait to meet you!

Thanks Lor for taking these!

Baby Prep!

I am down to almost 4 weeks until baby boy comes (give or take 2 weeks if he comes around when May came)  Hopefully longer!  I am trying to get as much done in April to have a somewhat relaxing May.  As much as you can when you are extremely uncomfortable.

In the midst of all this Sam and I are trying to get our home ready to put on the market.  A little crazy I know!

Tiny shoes and diapers!!!

Around 37 weeks pregnant with May such a difference in size with #2.  I also feel like he is so much lower this time.

Alright all you seasoned moms here is the list I put together of everything I hope to get done before baby boy.  Let me know if I am missing something!!

Also I need some major stroller insight.  Everyone I know says good things about the double jogger Bob, but I have also heard the City Mini is lighter and easier to fold up. I can’t decide which one is better?  HELP PLEASE!  I know the Bob is easier to jog with, but I am not sure how often I will go jogging with a double stroller?  Lets be realistic here lol.

Baby Prep:

- Wash all breast pump parts
- Buy Nursing bras
- Wash baby clothes
- Freeze meals (have about 5-6 meals but need to make some more)
- Figure out stroller (debating between City Mini GT and Bob Double stroller)
- Install car seat
- Pack hospital bag
- Pack diaper bag
- Get out baby items from basement- wash
- Date nights/time with Sam and May
- Schedule dentist/hair/appointments
- Buy gift for May from baby brother –I got her a book and this fun wheel barrel to play with.

Not quite sure how this will work giving it to her in a hospital lol but I know she will love it for the summer:

 - Find co sleeper (let me know if you or anyone you know is selling one)

photo(309)Malayna loves reading her “Big sister” books over and over again.  Each day she talks more and more about baby brother in my belly.  We are trying to prepare her for the changes ahead (as much as we can).  I know she will be a great big sister!

Thankfully between my amazing neighbor, Sara, and some resales I feel set with clothing until around 6-9 months!  I have been busy doing laundry, organizing, and sorting all the clothes!  Nesting is in full force!

Moms what are some thing I am forgetting?

What are some helpful suggestions for transitioning from 1-2?
